Janai Purnima, a nationwide festival, is celebrated throughout Nepal. The major attractions are samanistic dances. The major sites include sacred lakes such as Gosainkunda (Langtang), Dudhkunda (Solukhumbu), Panch Pokhari (Yalambu), Changestahn (Solukhumbu), and Kumbeshwor (Patan). The main day is the full moon day of Shrawan (Jul–Aug) each year.
