Lobuche Peak
Lobuche Peak, 6,119 metres, is the second-most famous peak climbed during an Everest Base Camp trek or in an Everest Acclimatizing climb. The Base Camp situates in a small valley between Zongla and Lobuche in a small valley facing southeast. The usual route to the high camp and summit goes up a small valley continuing up from the basecamp. The climbing starts very early in the morning with a packed lunch. The first Phase of climbing is a rock scramble and steep snow slopes till 6,000m, which many refer to as the summit of Lobuche East. However, the actual summit is much further with far harder climbing. The summit gives stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Amadablam and other major peaks of Khumbu Himal. The mountain has two summits, East and West, with heights of 6,119 metres and 6,145 metres. A continuous ridge connects them, but West Summit requires a descending and climb a steep slope to the summit. The East Peak is referred to as a trekking peak and the West as an Expedition Peak.
After the ascent, we directly descend till Base Camp, where our kitchen crews will be waiting for us with some recharging hot items.
