Its beautiful Mountain, Langtang Lirung 7234m. and Langtang village recognize Langtang valley on the foot of the Mt. Langtang Lirung. The famous Langtang valley lies in the north of Kathmandu at a distance of a day drive and two days walk. The Langtang region is bordered with Tibet/China and it is encompassed in the Langtang National Park. The Langtang national Park is rich of many rare animals in the world, among them the most known and sought is snow leopard. Being boarder by giant mountains to the north, east and south it is like stadium, surrounded by all beautiful mountains.
Langtang is one of the most accessible areas for trekking in the north of Kathmandu valley. The scenery here is every bit as spectacular as most of the better known trekking destinations of Nepal. We mostly recommend to our clients for a combined trek of Langtang and Helambu. Helambu, which is ideal for short duration trek and is especially, suited to winter season trip. In Helambu valley there is series of north-south running valleys that provide a variety of possible trekking routes. At the head of the Helambu valleys is a ridge that separates Helambu from east-west running Langtang valley. Here the high alpine scenery, with mountains visible from their base to their peak, and the sparsely inhabited nature of the country makes this an ideal destination for trekkers who are on a tight time schedule.
To the west of Langtang valley is a virtual wilderness area on the Ganesh Himal range, a collection of 6-7000 meter peaks that receive very little number of tourist activity. |
